Head in the Game: Concussion Leadership in School Sport

Event Postponed – To Be Rescheduled

We’re pleased to announce an important professional development webinar designed specifically for the School Sport Professionals community, but also inclusive of all educators, coaches, sports coordinators, trainers and administrators involved in school-based sport.

Concussion is a common injury in youth sport and one that requires careful, evidence-based management. According to Sports Medicine Australia (SMA), concussion is a brain injury induced by biomechanical forces. It can result from direct or indirect impacts to the head, face, neck or body, and school-aged children may experience unique risks and recovery trajectories that differ from adults.

SMA’s Australian Concussion Guidelines for Youth and Community Sport provide clear, consistent advice for recognising and managing concussion in young athletes. These guidelines are designed for parents, teachers, coaches and sideline staff – especially in environments like school sport where medical practitioners may not be immediately available.

Guest Presenter

School Sport Professionals is proud to partner with Sports Medicine Australia to strengthen the capability of our members in the critical area of concussion management.

This important webinar will be led by Prashant Jhala.
